Pacific Premier Bank to Merge with Umpqua Bank and Rebrand to Columbia Bank – What It Means for HOAs and Condos
Community Financials would like to share an important update from our trusted banking partner, Pacific Premier Bank. Since 2018, Pacific Premier has been a key part of our operations, supporting our homeowner association (HOA) clients nationwide with no-fee bank accounts, easy signature card updates, check lockbox processing, fraud prevention mechanisms, visibility through software integrations, competitive rates, and excellent customer service.
On August 31, 2025, Pacific Premier Bank will officially merge with Umpqua Bank. Following the merger, the combined institution will be rebranded as Columbia Bank later this year. With over $70 billion in combined assets, the new Columbia Bank will be well-positioned to continue serving the HOA industry while enhancing technology and resources.
The good news is that the banking experience will remain the same:
- Account and routing numbers will not change for HOA customers.
- Signature cards, documents, and lockbox addresses remain valid; the bank name will simply update over time.
- Online banking tools and Smartwebs software integrations will remain the same and continue without interruption.
- The banking team we currently work with will stay in place, ensuring a seamless transition.
Additionally, Columbia Bank will adopt Pacific Premier’s Community Association Banking division, retaining leadership and staff to ensure continuity of service. The combined team is also planning to invest in further enhancing their API technology that connects to Smartwebs software and other resources to better support your HOA’s needs.
If you hold debit or credit cards through Pacific Premier Bank, you can continue using them without any changes after the merger. Should replacements become necessary in the future, the bank will notify you directly. Loan payments, CDs, and FDIC coverage will also remain unaffected, with IntraFi (CDARS and ICS) deposit services continuing as usual.
Community Financials will continue working closely with our Pacific Premier Bank contacts to ensure a smooth transition and keep you updated along the way.
